At the 15th Annual Volunteer Dinner
April 17, 2025
We’re thrilled to recognize three incredible member volunteers who go above and beyond for our community!
Their dedication and hard work make the Wiarton Propeller Club a better place for everyone.
Gayle joined the Propeller Club in 2018 and immediately stepped up as Secretary—a role she still holds today! She keeps our club running smoothly by taking meeting minutes, cleaning (except the main hall—thanks to her and Cody Thompson!), and serving on four committees.
When the club faced challenges, Gayle took action by recruiting new members and launching the Friends of the Club program, which now has 34 Friends and 41 members! She also organizes fun activities like shuffleboard, cornhole, and line dancing, bringing people together for good times.
Beyond the Propeller Club, Gayle has been an Optimist Club member since 2012, runs Wiarton’s Canada Day celebrations, and helped start Tess’s Kitchen, a vital community program.
Thank you, Gayle, for your tireless dedication!
Linda, not only a member of the Wiarton Propeller Club is the heart of our local seniors’ group, welcoming everyone with warmth and energy. Every Wednesday, she hosts gatherings at St. John’s United Church, where seniors connect, enjoy guest speakers, and go on fantastic outings—like tours of Earthbound Gardens, Purple Valley bee farms, and Tobermory National Park!
She also keeps seniors informed about community events and safety (like spotting scams), and she’s involved with the Council on Aging, Legion Branch 208, Gateway Haven, and more. A retired nurse and paramedic, Linda spends her retirement making life brighter for Wiarton’s seniors.
Linda, your kindness and leadership inspire us all!
Jackie joined the Propeller Club in 2023, just in time to help save the club from closing—and she’s been a fundraising superstar ever since! As Fundraising Chair, she’s brought in over $15,000 for the club.
With a marketing degree and years of experience (from Edmonton Airport to the Owen Sound Sun Times), Jackie knows how to get things done. She’s even run her own coffee truck business and organized countless events! Now, she’s using her skills to support Wiarton, and we’re so grateful.
Jackie, thank you for your passion and hard work!
These three remarkable volunteers show what community spirit is all about.
With gratitude,
Wiarton Propeller Club
A heartfelt congratulations to our Wiarton Propeller Club President, Julianne Hull, on being awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal this March, 2025 ! The honor was presented by MP Alex Ruff at a ceremony in Owen Sound, where 24 outstanding community leaders from across Bruce-Grey were recognized for their extraordinary contributions.
Julianne’s four decades of service exemplify the very best of our community. As a traveling nurse on the Bruce Peninsula, she provided compassionate care to vulnerable populations, later sharing her expertise as a Georgian College instructor. Her dedication continues through volunteer work with Community Living Wiarton and hospice support—proving her unwavering commitment to others.
MP Ruff emphasized how challenging it was to select recipients, noting that Julianne’s work—like that of her fellow honorees—reflects the “incredible people” who uplift our region through grassroots efforts, from pandemic support to elder care.
We’re immensely proud to call Julianne our President and celebrate this well-deserved recognition. Her tireless service inspires us all to give back with the same generosity and heart.
Congratulations, Julianne! 👑🎖️
